You’ve got friends coming over for dessert, and you decide at the last minute that dessert you had originally planned wasn’t all that exciting. Sure, a Pizzookie may sound pretty good, but it’s not what you want to serve your guests. So what do you do? Make chocolate bar brownies of course!
I was inspired by this post over on Recipe Girl. We don’t have Symphony Bars here in Calgary, so I just used Hershey’s almond chocolate bars. This recipe couldn’t be easier: mix up your favorite brownie batter. Layer half of it in the pan, top with a layer of chocolate bars and then finish it off with the rest of the brownie batter. Bake, and devour! For the record, my guests LOVED these brownies. We served them warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
