Happy Halloween!
I always forget how much I love Halloween. I know this sounds ridiculous, but it's true. During the beginning of October when most people are starting to make plans to go out to a party or something, I'm always resigning myself to the fact that I'm just going to spend a quiet night in, most likely alone. Then it gets to be about two weeks before Halloween night and...I realize that I would much rather dress up and have a party. I do this every year, and I don't know why. Luckily this year, a few of my friends didn't have plans either and didn't have the desire to go out to a bar, so I'm hosting a fondue party. Yeah, I've never made fondue by the way. I suddenly find myself agreeing to make a cheese and chocolate fondue. Luckily I have some pretty awesome friends who will still love me even if I mess up the fondue. Since I left my costume to the last minute, I honestly have no idea what I'm going to be. Going out and buying a costume wasn't really in the budget, so I'll have to make do with what I've got. I went to a costume party last weekend (which is where this picture is from) and the costume didn't exactly work out. Maybe I'll put the tiara on again and tell people I'm Queen of Cupcakes. Or Queen of the Universe. I tell people that all the time anyway! I should really finish off my coffee and go clean my apartment...the day will pass by much faster than I want and before I know it, guests will be arriving! Have a safe and happy Halloween friends!

Friday Fill-In
#148
1. It was a dark and stormy night, when I realized that I would much rather be in bed.
2. The library books are overdue, so I offered to take the books myself.
3. Rushing out, I realized that I had forgotten my cell phone. So I took the elevator back up to get it! Can't live without my cell phone.
4. Laying in my bunk bed during girls camp when I was 16, all that went through my head was...I think I heard a howl!
5. Shhhh... Cam is sleeping.
6. I hope my friends give me something good to eat!
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a meal of slow cooker chili with Stephen, tomorrow my plans include a Halloween fondue party and Sunday, I want to catch up on missed tv shows!

Random Thoughts
The past two weeks at work have been kicking my but, seriously. I'm not entirely sure why, but I have a feeling that it has something to do with this cold that I can feel coming on. I haven't been getting enough sleep lately either, even on the weekends. I feel like I could use a good 14 hours to help me feel better. Random fact: When I was a kid, if I didn't get enough sleep (especially at sleep overs), I would be physically ill the next day. My mom would always have to remind me of that before I left for a sleep over, yet I still went anyway. I'm glad that I outgrew the getting physically ill part, but I still feel like I'm not entirely myself unless I get about 8 hours of sleep a night. Should be easy right? Not so much. This is the first time since about grade 9 that I'm actually getting 8 hours of sleep a night, I kid you not. I can pinpoint the time since grade 9 is when I started Seminary....which was the beginning of many years of sleep loss.
Happy hump day everyone!
I'm hosting a Halloween Fondue Party on Saturday night. While I have had fondue before, I've never actually been the one to make it myself. Yet suddenly, I find myself with two fondue pots and the need to host a party. Which reminds me, hosting these little get togethers is getting expensive for me....but I just love to entertain, and I'd probably do it until all I'm eating is bread and water. That's just who I am.
Told you that my thoughts were random today.
Oh, and as for Ten on Tuesday...I was experiencing major writer's block. I have a half finished post in my drafts but just couldn't find the writing mojo to finish it off. It's probably because the topic was "Ten Favorite Movie Moments" which means:
a) I have much more than ten favorite moments
b) I can't do it half way and just write the moments down. I wanted to link to youtube videos and everything.
I'm hoping my mojo comes back and I finish it off on one of my days off so that I can post it anyway.
Today is my best friend's birthday, but she's in New Brunswick and I'm in Alberta. I miss her terribly.
Happy hump day everyone!

Guest Post: Crazy at 20...
I'm participating in my first ever 20-Something Blog Swap! I was partnered up with Jacquite over at Dream in the Air. She seems like a lot of fun and I'm always happy to be introduced to a new blogger! If you want to see my post, head on over and check it out! Read on for Jacquite's post...

Crazy At 20...
And I don’t believe it’s going to change anytime soon.
I’ve come to accept the fact that I am the oddball in my group of friends. When I say that I’m the oddball, I mean that if you sat us down and wrote our traits, personality, habits down…I would be the one that sticks out the most.
My zodiac is Aquarius which by itself makes me an enigma. I’m a complicated individual and sometimes don’t even understand myself. I am friendly with more people than I can count on both hands and both feet but the number of people that I am loyal to can be counted on one hand. I have weird points of views on things and an eclectic sense of style.
When we go out, I’m always the life of the party but in all honesty I would prefer staying at home in front of the fireplace or TV with a book and ipod at night. Politics and things going on in the environment are more important to me than the latest fashion trend or the hottest artists out right now.
I’m a firm believer in “Do what makes you happy and don’t worry about what other’s say about you.” The way I live my life is solely driven by the desire to please myself….I cry but refuse to let anyone see my tears. I give the best advice (or so I’ve been told) but can’t take my own. I dance and sing to music that’s playing in my head but have the hardest time talking in front of a crowd. A typical college student can’t wait to get out of school but me? I love school! Any way that I can educate myself further is wonderful in my eyes. Knowledge is the fruit of all things, everyone should know that and believe it.
I guess what I’m saying is that my life so far has been filled with adventure and I know it’s going to continue. I’m only 20 years old and my rollercoaster ride has only just begun. Feel more than free to join me on it. Hop in, buckle up and prepare for things that may give us laughs, tears, and shocks because I’ve learned that in my life: ANYTHING is possible…the next 10 years will be QUITE a spectacle.

1. The crickets sing, and the lightning bugs are floating on the breeze...
2. I'm happiest wherever you are.
3. I want to get far away from the drama that is in my life.
4. Last night, people were trying to eat me, but I have to remind myself; this was a dream.
5. But as for me, I should really get out of bed and start my day.
6. Way down south is where I come from.
7. And as for the weekend, tonight I'm looking forward to a Disney movie marathon, tomorrow my plans include a costume party and Sunday, I want to meet up with friends for dinner!

The Joys of Having a Roommate
(The title of this post is completely sarcastic by the way.)
Before I moved out, I lived in my own little fantasy world. In this fantasy world, I believed that when I finally moved away from home, I would move in with one or two of my very best friends and we would have fun all the time. I refused to believe that I might face the possibility of moving in with someone I don't know.
The time for me to move out finally rolled around and I was pretty excited. I was going to be moving in with my boyfriend and his roommate. I figured that this was ok because I already sort of knew the roommate and it couldn't be that bad, could it?
Yeah, that's what happens when you live in a fantasy world, you're delusional.
Living with my boyfriend has been perfectly ok. Sure he has his flaws, but I have mine, and we love each other so we work around those flaws and all is right in the world. When it comes to a roommate, that's not the case. There are things about him that are driving me mad and making me want to leave. Stephen and I are actually moving out alone in December, but that has been the plan since before I moved in.
In no particular order, here are the joys of living with my roommate:
-I cook something, and he'll eat all my leftovers, even though he also cooked something that day and has leftovers as well. He always eats it in the middle of the night while I'm sleeping. I've resorted to telling him not to eat my leftovers.
- He'll cook a big pot of something, enough to feed several people, all for himself, but then he'll leave it sitting on the stove all night/most of the next day and I'll have to throw it out. What a waste of food! I've resorted to putting it in the fridge myself.
-He doesn't clean. He'll occasionally do the dishes and will clean his bathroom when I make Stephen ask him to. (we have two bathrooms, one in my bedroom and one not. There are times that his bathroom is so gross I make guests use the bathroom in my room)
- He drinks all day long and I have found him, once or twice, passed out on the floor in the living room.
-He started seeing this girl that I have a mutual friend with. She seems nice enough, except for the fact that she's extremely loud. She was over last night. My bedroom door opens up into the living room pretty much, so if someone is being loud, I can hear them. I had to take a sleeping pill last night in order to force myself to fall asleep so that I could be rested for work today. I'm exhausted anyway.
Last night's events are what prompted me to write this post. My roommate can be a pretty good guy and has his times where he's nice, but sometimes a girl's just gotta vent, ya know?

Ten on Tuesday
Ten Guilty Pleasures:
1. Every single one of The Real Housewives Shows: Slice just started showing the first season of New Jersey and Atlanta here in Canada, and I've fallen hard for these two shows. To the point where I actually get sad if I'm going to miss it, and seriously contemplate getting a DVR or whatever the heck it's called.
2. Ridiculous pop songs: I've got some embarrassing ones on my iPod, and I can't believe that I am going to admit this to people who read my blog, but here we go anyway:
-Heidi Montag: Body Language
-O-Town: Liquid Dreams
-Kim (of Reals Housewives of Atlanta fame): Tardy for the Party
-Original BSB
There. I admitted it. Please tell me you'll still be my friend.
3. Ben and Jerry's ice cream: Specifically Half Baked and One Cheesecake Brownie. (I just went and checked out their website, I can't even find close to half the flavors the make in stores that I go to. Sad day.) Before I started dating Stephen, I would regularly tell people that Ben and Jerry are my boyfriends. Heck, I still tell people that. I have no shame.
4. Gossip Magazines: We all know the ones: Ok, Start, In Touch, Us Weekly. I love reading them all. Luckily I don't have to spend my money on them, my mom buys them and when she's through with them, I get them!
5. Trashy Reality Shows: Think along the lines of The Hills, Big Brother, The Real World, basically anything on MTV...
6. Family Channel shows: On occasion I have watched Hannah Montana, Wizards of Waverly Place and Life with Derek. Again, please tell me you'll still be my friend.
7. Eating dinner in bed: Sometimes Stephen will cook a yummy meal, we'll turn on a movie and eat it in bed. Ah, bliss!
8. Dance Parties: When I'm home alone, I'll crank up the music and dance ridiculously. It feels so good. I also do it quite often while I'm baking, the two just seem to go together.
9. Licking the batter off the spoon: I bake all the freaking time, so I'm always doing this. I can't help it, it must be a disease or something.
10. Sleep: On my days off, I don't get out of bed before 11am unless absolutely necessary. Most days I sleep till noon. I love it.

Thanksgiving
It's Thanksgiving here in Canada, and even though I had my dinner on Saturday night, I thought I would make a list of things that I am thankful for.
-My family: They're always there for me, and always so full of love. I feel like now that I've moved away from home, my relationships with my individual family members have strengthened. They're always requesting that I bake something for them, and even when it doesn't turn out the way I hoped (like my pumpkin pie did on Saturday), they're still full of compliments.
-Stephen: I can't even begin to tell you how thankful I am for him. He has an endless well of patience when it comes to my moodiness, crying and just general Angela-ness. He's incredibly thoughtful and loving. If I keep going, this will turn out to be much too mushy.
-My friends: While I don't have the huge circle of friends that I once had, the ones that have stuck around are amazing, no joke. They put up with my silliness, and the way I tend to become a hermit every so often and don't phone anyone for ages. They probably just stick around because I always bake for them, haha!
-My apartment: While it's not perfect, I'm incredibly lucky to be living in an apartment downtown at all. My entire life, I've always wanted to live downtown. Mission accomplished.
-My job: I probably complain about it more than I should, but I'm thankful to even have a job! My nanny family is pretty amazing, and I'm so lucky to be apart of these kids' lives. They're going up to be such amazing people.
Even though it's not Thanksgiving for everyone just yet, I hope you'll take a moment to stop and think of what you're thankful for!

Ten on Tuesday
Ten things I want, but can't afford:
1. An oversized mirror: I'm talking giant mirrors! I think they can make a room look so amazing! Too bad they're ridiculously expensive.
2. A couch: Such a simple desire, but the one we have now is awful. We might be getting one for Christmas though!
3. A new bag: Preferably Hermes. Enough Said.
4. Anything from Tiffany: Every time we walk past Holt Renfrew, I drag Stephen through the Tiffany department and gush over the jewelry. He knows that my dream engagement ring would be from there. (He also knows that I'd be just as happy if he proposed with a ring from Wal-Mart.)
5. Manolo Blahnik Shoes: I've loved Manolo's since before I watched Sex and the City. Everyone who knows me knows I'm dying to own a pair!
6. A House: (Not necessarily this one) Ever heard of fall nesting? Yeah, I've got it real bad. I want to move out of my apartment and decorate a house! It's ridiculous how bad I want this.
7. A gorgeous kitchen: (Again, not necessarily this one) I would love to design my own kitchen! This is the one room in the house that I would spend most of my time and energy planning and designing. With a baker and a chef living together, you know it would be one amazing kitchen! I would never leave it.
8. A trip to Paris: For as long as I can remember, I've been obsessed with all things french, and Paris is definitely included in that! There are pictures of Paris all over my apartment. I really hope that one day I can go.
9. A trip to New York: New York is a close second on my obsessions list. There are also pictures scattered around my apartment...one day I'll get there!
10. My own bakery: I'd love to one day be a good enough baker to open my own bakery...preferably one that specializes in cupcakes (as if you'd expect any less from me!) And holy heck is this one ever cute! It looks like this picture comes from Sugarbaby's Cupcake Boutique in Houston.

{Stephen, my Mom and I. She's such a goof ball!}
Hope you're enjoying your weekend!
